In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, one of the most famous passages in the Bible, Paul paints a picture of what love is really like. And since God is love, we can say that 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 is also a picture of what God is really like. If you ever wonder what God is like, you can think of Him this way:
God is patient. God is kind. God does not envy. God does not boast. God is not proud. God is not rude. God is not self-seeking. God is not easily angered. God keeps no record of wrongs. God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. God always protects. God always trusts. God always hopes. God always perseveres. God never fails.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for showing us what true love really is, and also what God is really like. Every day may you make us more and more like You, that we would put our childish ways behind us (v11), and mature into the men and women you made us to be – people who are known for our faith, hope, and love. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
